Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain new skills and make a difference to your local community.
"I love coming to the museum and look forward to it immensely. I never know what we will discover or learn, or the interesting people I will meet. I feel you look after us all with great care and respect."
We greatly value the support of our volunteers who make a real difference through a variety of roles:
At Palace House, Newmarket our volunteering programme will continue to expand to include new roles such as gardening; meeting and greeting visitors; and helping people to engage with the new displays.
We aim to offer a range of volunteering opportunities and to match people to tasks that take into account their skills and interests. Volunteer roles can be regular, short-term or occasional depending on how much time you have to spare.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
Are you aged 14-22 and interested in museums or a career in heritage?
Why not become a Young Curator? Our next project starts in September 2017.
