James Woodburn, published 1890, Artist: Sir Leslie Ward, 'Spy'

After coming south to Newmarket, James Woodburn was employed by the patrons of Sherwood's stables and rode L'Abbesse de Jouarre to victory in the Oaks in 1889 and won the 1000 Guineas for Mr Vyner on Minthe. In 1888, his best year, he rode fifty eight winners and was deemed 'not a bad fellow'.

All prints are 26 x 40 cm and supplied unframed and un-mounted. They are antique chromolithographs and come with a certificate of authenticity.
