Daily 'behind the scenes' RoR demonstrations take place at 11.30am and 2.30pm. Meet former racehorses and find out how racehorses are retrained to riding horses as our friendly staff walk and talk you through their routine. The demonstration usually lasts 30 minutes. Please meet in the Rothschild Yard if you wish to watch a demonstration. To see which horses are currently stabled in the Rothschild Yard please click here. Demonstrations take place outside and are subject to change, please ensure you dress appropriately.
Every day the 'Behind the Scenes' RoR tour is different, while you will always see a horse being ridden in the Peter O'Sullevan Arena there may be different disciplines on display. The list below highlights what you will see during the public demonstrations:
Pick up a family trail from reception and be taken on a fascinating journey of exploration and discovery around the National Heritage Centre. You’ll discover some amazing objects and learn about the wonderful tales of horseracing.
Make sure you don’t leave without having a go on our simulator – experience the thrill of riding a racehorse and see how fit jockeys need to be!
